Does “ideal” mean non-existent?
Perhaps, Yes..Through all my education, i didnt come across an “ideal” teacher! Even the best of teachers have their shortcomings, and, therefore, are not the ideal “education facilitators”...Typically, teachers measure all students with the same yardstick not considering that each student is unique in their own right – that each student has a different learning capacity and drive. I do hope teachers evolve to this aspect of education…
Each student has a different learning capacity; similarly each teacher also has a different teaching ability. Let us keep in mind that all human beings are unique…..teacher is also a human being. Sometimes management’s, student’s and parent’s aspirations does not allow a teacher to fit into the ‘Ideal Teacher’s’ category. All will agree to the fact the ‘ideal’ is an abstract concept and no guidelines can measure the qualities that need to become ideal. Yet there are certain qualities or to be more specific certain rules that all teachers can inculcate to get into the circle of being “ideal”.
